About the Dachshund
Dachshunds, affectionately known as “Wiener dogs” due to their long bodies and short legs, are small breed originally developed in Germany. Their name, which means “Badger dog” in German, reflects their original purpose, hunting badgers. Dachshunds are brave, clever, and full of personality, making them a popular companion breed around the world. Dachshunds come in 3 coat varieties: smooth, longhaired, and wire haired. Dachshunds are spirited and lively dogs, often described as having big personalities packed into a small body. They are affectionate with families and can be very loyal, sometimes forming strong bonds with a particular person. They enjoy playtime and comical, entertaining their owners with their antics. Their affectionate nature and love of adventures make them wonderful companions for individuals or families.
